"Annual blood testing is the most important step aging adults can take to prevent life-threatening disease."
Today, I’m sharing how I strive to intuitive eat; what I feel is right for me, when I’m hungry. I try to avoid having a dieting mentality. Other than for an occasional, non-obsessive check on my weight, I feel that 'scales are for fish.'
Well, I have had a lot of blood test results this month that have turned my ideas of what is a healthy diet, for me, near upside down. I’ve discovered that I am not metabolizing iron normally and I am in iron overload and need a low iron and iron absorbing; lower Vit C. as that increased iron absorption, diet. So what I thought was healthy food, isn’t necessarily so for any single individual. So listen to what your body tells you, not the diet books.
Also, get blood tests done at least once a year, that assists you know what your body needs, more than any book can tell you. Happy eating, and good health.
Another crucial test we should all have done, at least once a year, or according to our own doctor's advice is our blood pressure.
Don't underestimate the effects of stress on our health. We cannot excel at everything, so don’t attempt it if that would stress you.
It is sufficient, for me, to take on mentoring, critiquing, proofreading, editing and publishing, along with writing, as those are the jobs I love. Mathematics was never my first love. Sticking with the jobs you love doing and leaving yourself time to relax, exercise and socialise is one of the best ways to strive for a healthy blood pressure.
