A Good News Story.
A strange cycle of events. An excellent outcome.
I went to a shop in Shepparton yesterday to get something for both Reg and myself. While waiting to be served, I filled in my contact details on three raffle tickets that I added to my order, not because I wanted the prize, I didn't, but because I wanted to support the charity.
Later that day, the parcel was forgotten and left behind in a disabled toilet. I did ring the council to ask if it turned up in lost property to let me know, but it didn't. I knew where I had left it, but I couldn't go back to look for it, so I wrote it off as a loss. A little disappointed, but I 'put it behind me.'
Someone returned the parcel, after hours, and left it on a bench outside the shop where I'd bought the goods. The storekeeper took it in and checked the contents, remembered that I'd bought a raffle ticket and rang me up, from the phone number on the raffle ticket.
Reg and I have our purchase back.
