I'd add to that that I may not be Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, New Age...
White, Aboriginal, Asian, Middle Eastern, Mexican...
One could go on infinatelly.
The point being, we are peaple, few of us not connected by DNA, so technically all related. Human rights is for all.
We just can't allow Islamophobia to grow out of a rejection of homophobia. Homophobia comes from an obsession with the same bible passages common to three of the world's major religions.
With education, people are learning that human rights should take priority over certain passages in ancient books. Education takes time, and it can't be achieved in an atmosphere of fear or hate for one group of people. We so desperately need to respect each other, and that's hard for many to do right now.
I see that you trying hard, here, to got that message across. :-)
Many Australian Muslims are grieving along with others for what has recently happened in Orlando. They are saddened that a Muslim was involved. Younger Muslims will bring moderation, just as younger Christians have brought to their church's teachings, and more, like we will just turn their back on religion, because of discrimination. One way or another, we (people in general) are gaining tolerance—in some areas.
We all have to change our opinions from those drummed into us when we were infants, and not allow bigoted news stories to sway us. Stay strong and believe we are one family with more in common than separates us.
