What shall I prepare for dinner?
Tonight's dinner vegetables and herbs, fresh from the garden. All advice welcome on what to get from the pantry, fridge or freezer to compliment them.
chives, rosemary, kale, silverbeet, shallots, spring onions, eggplant, zucchini, French beans, squash, carrots, black Russian tomatoes, red tomatoes, okra.
This was this week's exercise. 12 x 1.5 metres of new vegetable garden bed created in the open, sown in late autumn and winter harvest vegetables. The compost bin, down the end, has been emptied as a garden starter and is ready to take the autumn plant pruning.
Today's harvest with this week's germinating winter harvest crop was coming up behind it.
On the writing front, I have been working hard at publishing my back list of non-fiction books in a non-fiction pen name I keep separate from this, my fiction author name.
I'll be staying up all night as I'm doing a live, online conference for ALLi authors that's being presented by Apple iBooks. I'll need to keep those late night munchies healthy tonight, so I'm at my peak to focus.
Fantastic, isn't it, to sit in conference with The Alliance of Independent Authors and Apple iBooks with my feet up in a nightdress, messy hair, garden dirt on your feet while sipping hot and healthy, homemade soup? Dinner, before I settle into a night of author work, is Salmon patties with homegrown crunchy braised, vegetables. Herbed yogurt dressing and lemon on the side. Yummy.
