Banana Study Snack
If you're approaching struggle town in your studies we've got the perfect fix. Take a quick study break to create this super easy study snack to give your brain a break AND a boost.
Yep - taking this break can actually make you more productive. Why? Bananas baby.
Bananas are an awesome brain food! Filled with potassium they keep oxygen flowing to your brain, which promotes strong signals between cells. They're also high in this awesome little amino acid called Tryptophan. Tryptophan stimulates production of serotonin, which helps keep you calm and happy, preventing study stress.
There's no better excuse to take a study break and eat delicious food than these, so what are you waiting for? Go bananas!
2 ripe bananas
Nut butter of your choice - we love ABC butter
Dark chocolate - the higher the percentage of cocoa, the better for youMethod:
Chop up your banana into small bite sized pieces
Spread your nut butter onto one banana slice then place another piece on top like a sandwich
Melt your chocolate in a glass bowl, atop a pot of boiling water - as soon as it is soft, take it off the heat
Using a skewer or a fork dip the banana/nut butter ?sandwiches? into the melted chocolate mix
Place your little sandwhiches on baking paper covered tray
Pop your treats in the freezer for a minimum of 1 hour
Use as a treat to tempt you into continuing to studyExtra:
Before the chocolate sets, you could add a little bit of extra zing by sprinkling with coconut, crushed nuts or even extra chocolate chips!
Once your treats are frozen, pop them in a zip lock bag, and they will keep in the freezer for a week
