I've been eating muesli and yogurt for breakfast for decades. I've never tired of it.
I eat my rolled oats as they can, from the packet to the bowl with yogurt and fresh fruit and nuts added. My husband loves the cover the oats with boiling water and then cook that for a minute in the microwave, before adding skim milk powder and fruit yogurt. You can soak the oats overnight to make them soft.
It is a beautiful day here at Seven-mile beach. Choosing locations to stay, on our tour that give me the opportunity to walk, run and swim, is working well. There was a slimming goal, reason that I chose caravan parks with swimming pools and either maintains to hike up or beaches to run and walk on, for this tour. I want to be able to, and I know I will be able to, wear the smaller size clothing I have stored under the bed J on my return trip south in Australia’s springtime.
Reg and I arrived at Gerroa NSW to stay at the highly recommended Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park, yesterday afternoon. The other campers and caravaners who were arriving were all setting up their outdoor electric grills I did not feel like stopping to set up anything, I wanted instant food, recreation and I knew I needed exercise.
I had that half of yesterday’s roast chicken in the fridge. I grabbed that chicken and some water, and we headed straight to the beach for a relaxing beach picnic after a day of driving. I sat there on the dune and munched on my chicken with Indigo our poodle, devouring the chicken skin I no longer eat.
I laughed to Reg and said,
‘what goes down has to get up again,'
something we have been saying for years with humour as we have sometimes found the getting up is an effort and he replied, that ‘that was why he was going to remain standing to eat.'
The ‘old Kathy,' would not have got up off that dune until I was ready to come back to set up the caravan. I know the importance of exercise especially after a day of driving (with walk breaks), so I set off on our long beach walk and once moving was enjoying it. It’s just the psyching ourselves to ‘do it,' that’s the little bit of effort, and that is where the 12-week body transformation program is helping me with their constant reference to ‘JFDI.' Now I am not, keen on using the F word, even in abbreviation, but remembering, my friends in Michelle Bridges 12wbt, acknowledging that there are many times when we do not feel like or have the time to exercise. Those are the times to say to ourselves, ‘JFD!’, or a tamer version like I direct to myself, ‘Just DO IT, Kathy’. That ‘JDIK,' is working for me.
