I use natural cocoa powder and skim milk if I desire hot chocolate. If I had to have it sweeter, I would add honey as being sweeter than sugar and you need very little. I add some nutmeg or cinnamon to it and that is a delicious additional touch.
I spoke to a research nutrition scientist yesterday and she said Homogenized milk was very bad, very fattening and the worst hardener of arteries, because the milk fat and the milk protein are treated until they bind together and become a molecule that the human body does not recognize,
The body cannot recognize and move the fat though the arteries so it sticks to them and the fat cells.
She claimed that the body struggles to use this combined fat protein so it can't burn it, it just sticks to fat cells, and it can't recognize the protein either as it has fat combined in it and will not separate again and this is causing more milk protein allergy than before.
OK, This wasn't 'my opinion though I will not use homogenized milk, I use skim milk powder mostly because of traveling convenience and cost saving. I am just repeating what I was told by someone who identified themselves to me as a nutrition research scientist and certainly seemed to 'know her stuff,' well enough for me to believe her.
