I’ve been thinking about travel again.
I depart on our 2013 travel writing tour of Australia, writing for gray-nomad.com and 19 other websites, early March 2013.
I always hope to include more physical activity into these trips than I manage when I am at home. There is always opportunities for swimming and bushwalking.
I bought a good, fast focus, easy to use camera, a Canon SLR with a little wide angle and a lot of zoom all combined in the one lens to save changing lenses while travelling, plus I bought all the extras, essential to a traveller, the spare battery, car charger, lens cover, bag, etc.
As my last two Canons were stolen, I plan on taking out insurance this time. I don't want a lens that is too large and clumsy to easily carry, so I do not need the top of the range in lenses. I do however need a camera and lens with a fast auto focus and zoom to enable a travel writer to obtain magazine print standard images.
I have some homework to do, reading up on using my new camera.
