It is seven years since I won a prestigious award for this blog, and I've continued blogging, through fitness and illness, and back again, ever since. Today, I'm thrilled to have been able to garden for three days is a row, all l be it, sit down gardening, as I'm in my seventies and learning to adapt to doing things that require less bending and kneeling. Still, with modifications, such ass raised garden beds, I don't have to stop the things I love doing, or love growing.
I employed someone a lot younger and fitter than I am to fill the raised garden bed with soil. Now that the raised gardens are set up, I can enjoy sitting beside then and planting, tending, and harvesting, my produce.
Today in my creative arts studio and garden.
*The Garden: It is the shortest day of the year in my Goulburn Valley, Australian garden. It's an ideal time to plant garlic to be harvested on the longest day of the year. I'll wait until the item sun warms the air and then got outside to prepare another vegetable garden bed with. Compost, lime, blood and bone and some well-rotted chicken manure.
I had two garden helpers this morning removing iris plants from around the base of a grapefruit tree which I then manured and mulched. I'll replant these in a more open sunny spot and clean up the garden, taking some rubbish to be dumped. I think those activities will have my active afternoon covered. The garden is both my creative project and a way to get exercise, as I blogged yesterday in Connection between physical strength and creating extraordinary work
*Creative Writing: The blogs:
I'll create more blogged art lessons such as this one from yesterday of painting flowers, and about the author Pierre-Auguste Renoir and northern Australian gray nomad travel blogs such as Paranella Park. I'm loving writing creative life blogs and inviting guest authors who cross-promote. I also share some classic literature, here is: The Open Window by H. H. Munro (Saki) Classic Short Story in a post with a great suggestion for a business lunch sandwich. Yes, work at home bloggers love our food. I often need to blog about how to not eat quite as much of it, to remind myself, hence the food diary post. When I get concerned about the rise in hate crime I get together with my editor Grant Leishman and write an opinion piece. This is Grant's excellent blog about Fear and mine about Terrorism.
Having caught up with my creative life diary.
It is the time of night when sane people are asleep in bed. I'm about to make coffee, turn off the internet and organise the life of one of Napolean lll's lovers into chapters in a novel. You have to admit, us writers lead crazy a crazy life.
A blog blast-from-the past, seven years ago.
GREAT. I'm thrilled with the news that I won the Michelle Bridges 12 Week body Transformation, Best Blog, award, :-), I reset my goals a lot higher and worked out what I had to do to achieve them, and I am right on target for the future.
Today I also spent in advance a little of the cash prize I have heard I have won. I bought myself some Nike running shorts and sports crop top, and I am about to head out the door and exercise in them, in the tropical Queensland rain.
I received so many congratulations messages from my friends. Thank you. I will treasure that you were all so pleased it was me and this blog, that won.
I think everyone who reads my blog knows I aim for healthy, excess weight loss, not dieting, and never the loss of any muscle or bone density. In fact, I am positively working on gaining both of these and making time to achieve a balanced lifestyle.
